Our Story
NanoBlitz started in 2022 in Michigan. William was working with a gummy manufacturer to implement a water-soluble powder he had formulated for another application, and they mentioned an interest in fast-acting gummies. Powders don’t work in gummy production, so he developed a liquid formulation that nano-encapsulates the oil. That formulation became NanoBlitz.
Since then NanoBlitz has been used in gummies, chocolates and pretzel coatings, and has built several successful relationships with producers in Michigan.
Dr. William Peters, Founder & Chemist
William holds a Ph.D. in Biotechnology and Engineering from the University of Alabama in Huntsville and was a postdoctoral fellow and lecturer in chemistry at Princeton University. He later added an MBA from the Isenberg School of Business at UMass Amherst and earned his Project Management Professional certification.
He has spent most of his career in drug discovery and biophysical instrumentation. At MicroCal and GE Healthcare he managed global scientific training in calorimetry, working with pharmaceutical and biotech scientists across North America, Europe and Asia. As an Associate Research Scientist at Johns Hopkins University he applied thermodynamic strategies to design small-molecule therapeutics. As founder and CEO of Chreston LLC he invented a new calorimeter technology, raised more than $3 million to bring it to market, and negotiated its acquisition. His research has been published in the Journal of Molecular Biology, Biochemistry and Methods in Enzymology.
William first became involved in the cannabis industry in 2013. Since then he has designed analytical laboratories for extraction and purification, served as Chief Scientist at Aerosource-H overseeing extraction workflows, and developed automated instrumentation for pharmaceutical scientists as Principal of Cape BioResearch.
Today, as President of Equip Consult LLC, he formulated NanoBlitz and leads its production, product development and formulation support, helping customers dial in the right process for their gummies, beverages and edibles.
Outside of NanoBlitz, William teaches AP Chemistry on Cape Cod, has coached a high school golf team to a state championship, is a trained luthier who builds acoustic guitars, and published his first book, Daniel: Standing Firm in a Pagan Culture, in 2026.
Dabney Peters, Co-Founder
Dabney co-founded NanoBlitz with his father and leads the business side of the company: financial planning, production cost analysis, marketing strategy and supplier coordination.
He is completing a B.A. in Economics at the University of Michigan (expected 2027), where he received the Hopwood Award for Exceptional Writing in 2025. In the summer of 2026 he was a Summer Analyst in Executive Wealth at Goldman Sachs (Ayco) in Newport Beach. There he worked on client financial planning across estate, tax and retirement strategy, and co-led a client investment presentation that he defended in live Q&A before advisors and firm leadership.
At Michigan he is an Instructional Assistant at the Center for Entrepreneurship, supporting three courses on leadership, innovation and consulting and mentoring more than 200 students each term on business modeling, client communication and project execution.
In 2026 he founded the Michigan Wealth Advisory Group (michiganwealth.org), a student organization that builds members’ knowledge of investing, financial planning and careers in wealth advisory. As president he sets its strategy, recruits and manages the leadership team, and brings in industry professionals to work with students.
Outside of work, Dabney has played professional jazz trombone, volunteers serving meals to families at Hope Clinic in Ypsilanti, and wrote his first novel in 2025.
